Recognition of Prior Learning
Candidates who have completed appropriate training, or who through prior learning and work experience believe they have gained the skill/competency level required for any of the modules may apply for credit. Upon substantiation of their claim appropriate credit will be granted.
DAN AP accepts that some prospective participants in its First Aid Programs may have already gained some of the skills required to satisfy certain course outcomes. Where possible, DAN will grant Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), as appropriate. The following guidelines should assist a potential course participant or the Instructor in assessing RPL:

A potential participant can be exempted from attending this module if satisfying either of the criteria below:

The certification must have been conducted in accordance with local protocols (i.e. Australian Resuscitation Council in Australia or equivalent body elsewhere).
2. The person competently demonstrates to the DAN Instructor the Specific Performance Objectives outlined in the DAN Resuscitation Module.
