DAN Advanced Oxygen First Aid

(Please Note This Course Is Not A Nationally Recognised Course)

This informative 5 hour program provides the training necessary to check for a carotid pulse, provide continued ventilation and use both flow-restricted manually triggered oxygen powered resuscitators (MTRs) and bag valve masks (BVMs).

Participants must have a current DAN Oxygen provider certification, as this course is an extension program and not a standalone course.

Topics covered include: Recognition of an injury or illness and the benefits of oxygen provision, checking for signs of life (including the carotid pulse), review of potential complications with artificial ventilation, hazards and precautions when using oxygen, use of MTRs and use of BVMs
